The next step in your fitness: Group training classes at Legion Training Systems with Steve Mansfield, or with a LegionFit certified instructor, you can begin with or build on your fitness with the LegionFit program —our facility or wherever Legion Training is held, in our small semi-private classes. These classes are designed for you to get ripped, get fit, and stay that way.
Much like the successful DVD's of the P90X series,Insanity, or The Pit, Special Forces Workouts, etc., Legion Training Systems will continue to build on the workouts you are familiar with, along with some additional surprises to keep your muscles "confused". While the core of our workouts are inspired by these types of programs, additional exercises are implemented from top trainers such as Mark Twight of the 300 Workout. Our goal is to advance your fitness while never repeating a workout so you can get the most from a class.
If you are a beginner, the best thing about Legion Training is that the workouts are adaptable to various levels of fitness so that every person who walks through Legion’s doors can shape up safely while continuing to build one’s level of fitness and strength. With our small semi-private classes, trainer Steve Mansfield can craft workouts for all levels of fitness so that you are motivated to work hard.
Our The Legion Training Systems program of fitness classes are held 6 days a-week locally with an average of 4-15 male and female students per class. When you come to class, bring some water, a towel and wear comfortable exercise clothing. Below are our class descriptions
Our Upper Body class (Chest-and-Back) workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises, push-ups and pull-ups, to build strength and develop shape. We also use an array of moves that target both large and small muscles through presses, flys, and extensions to really challenge the muscles. Finally, we also add in a dose of abs and core work (Core Synergistics) to this class to build and support lumbar spine and trunk muscles. In other words, this is a total upper body workout from start to finish.
Get ready to squat, lunge, and pull for a total-body workout like no other. While the main focus of this workout lies in strengthening and developing the leg muscles (quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves), there's also a handful of plyometric (jumping) and low-impact cardio exercises we use to keep the legs fresh and challenged. We also make sure to wrap things up with an upper leg/lower abs routine that will help define those coveted six-pack musscles and lean waistlines.
Nothing rounds out the perfect physique like a pair of well-defined arms and shoulders, and with its potent combination of pressing, curling, and fly movements, this routine will leave you feeling stronger and looking better. Whether you want to build muscle mass or just slim and tighten what you've already got, these targeted shoulder and arm exercises will get you the results you want.
Combat Fitness was created to give you a high-intensity cardiovascular workout packed with lots of punching and kicking combinations to improve balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. During this workout you'll learn some of the most effective ways to defend yourself, while at the same time getting your body in peak condition.
A 'kettlebell' or girya (Russ.) is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. "Not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics," reported Russian magazine Hercules in 1913. Why? Because they deliver extreme all-round fitness. And no single other tool does it better. Here is a short list of hardware the Russian kettlebell replaces: barbells, dumbbells, belts for weighted pullups and dips, thick bars, lever bars, medicine balls, grip devices, and cardio equipment. The kettlebell dominates other exercise equipment. Kettlebells can melt the fat. If you are overweight, you will lean out. If you are skinny, you will get built up.
